"Harrys old TV in his living room finally stopped working after 10 years and decided to treat himself to a new 65inch super thin SUHD TV. Harry's old TV was wall mounted so he gave the Technicians at TV Magic Pacific Pines a call to help him remove his old TV and install the new one on the wall as well as set up a match sound bar on the cabinet to go with it. When we removed the old TV we found that we needed a different tv wall mounting bracket fitted and screwed into a different location to get his new TV in the spot he wanted it. 5 Common mistakes DIYer's, Electricians and handymen make when wall mounting Tv's

1. They install the wall sockets in a bad spot on the wall. All to often we arrive at a customers house to install a TV on the wall and the electrician etc. has installed the TV point and power point on the wall right where the bracket needs to sit or where the cables won't be able to fit. The best plan is to wall mount your TV first and then plan where the power and tv points are to go so they are not in the way.
2. They install the foxtel point with the TV point up behind the TV. We actually come across this quite often. They haven't through it through, obviously the foxtel box connection point should be where that box is going to sit, not up behind the TV.
3. They cut the holes too high. To hide the cables in the wall we cut a hole in the wall below the middle wood noggin in Pacific Pines Gold Coast homes and another hole at the bottom to pass the cables through. I see many times a huge hole in the wall from where a mistake has been made and the installer has to cut this huge hole in order to get his drill in to bore a big hole through the middle wood noggin; whoops!
4. They use wall brackets with design flaws. Why is the TV not level? Umm.... because they've used a bracket that flexes and bends or is loose on the back of the TV. This is just one of many design flaws we come across in other TV or Sound bar brackets.
5. The cables are too short. It's crazy! we find these TV's solidly wall mounted and they've run cables which only poke out of the wall at the top and bottom just a bit, not enough to be of any use to anyone. 3 Meter long cables please!
