"Marge of Yatala Gold Coast wanted to put TV's in the bedrooms for the grand kids but there wasn't any TV sockets or Foxtel outlets in those rooms so she called TV Magic to help install them. When we arrived we found her home to be a steel frame, tin roof home, which can make things tricky for running new TV antenna connections concealed in the walls. Luckily we found enough space in the roof cavity to run the new coax cables in on internal walls and over to the antenna and foxtel feeds. Marge was delighted with the neatness of our workmanship and was extra happy that we setup and tuned in each of the new TV's she bought for the bedrooms as a complimentary service."

5 Things that can make running new TV point cabling and extra Foxtel outlets difficult

  1. Flat roofs. When dealing with houses that have flat roofs / I.E no roof cavity, you're basically limited to running coax cabling on the external walls and on top roof of your home, which can be tricky to make it look neat without putting in a lot of extra work.
  2. Multi storey dwellings. Unless you have access to a decent man hole space and you're installing your new TV connection or Foxtel socket on that top floor things can get tricky or not even possible within reason. Essentially unless it's feasible to have coax cabling run externally down the walls from the top you may have to start thinking outside the box. Sometimes we can work with an existing tv point or foxtel outlet in your home and run a new cable of that to your new location at your Yatala home.
  3. Double Brick walls. Quite often when they are building the walls the mortar excess oozes into the cavity between the brick walls and blocks the cavity, preventing or making it really difficult to run a new coax cable through.
  4. Cement walls. A lot of buildings have cement walls and basically we can't do anything with them as we can't feasibly run a new cable in as there is no cavity left after the wall is completed.
  5. Insulation inside the walls. Insulation inside the walls makes it damn near impossible to install a new TV antenna socket or foxtel connection when we're dealing with an internal wall of a home. Basically we can't see where we are drilling and could easily drill through your wall and out the side when trying to drill through the middle noggin. And even if you got that far, you're going to find it near impossible to feed a yellow tongue tool down to the bottom through that insulation.

A real-life example from today, 21th February 2018 follows:

"Maurice of Yatala Gold Coast wanted to get a new TV point put in his garage and a foxtel outlet installed on the other side of the wall where he had one already. Both of these jobs were made easy because Maurice lived in a typical tiled roof, single storey, wood frame home. After installing the new TV point and Foxtel outlet we provided Maurice with some new TV antenna cables free of charge and helped him tune in his TV's for the rooms respectively."

TV Point Installation - Where can you put a TV point? How many TV points can you have?

I have installed more TV points in difficult locations than any other company. Whilst there is always a 'cheaper option' sometimes having the TV point EXACTLY where you want it can be a little more difficult (and some technicians) are not prepared to do the hard work....

Do you want a TV point in a particular location? Do you need it to be under a window? Does your roof allow no access or do your walls have no cavities inside them? Some of these scenarios make installing a TV point extremely difficult. There are times /customers who want their TV points exactly:- where they want them! And TV Magic provides such a service.

How much does it cost? Call me out for a quote! Every house is different and situation is different. Whilst sometimes it may only cost an extra $25 for the 'difficult option' other TV points have been known to cost $1000 or more (and the customer had to have it done, because they had no TV, (and noone else would do it).
