Franchisee of the Year awards 2015

Franchisees gathered from 3 states of Australia for the annual FOY awards held in QLD. This year the Lions Club Camp Duckadang, a venue that TV Magic donated a AV system upgrade to 'Hamilton Hall' in order to attract more professional /corporate groups to the site. 

During the weekend stay, new best practices were exchanged, workshops took place and stories were told. On the Sunday we had our formal conference and awards ceremony. During this event we were graced with our guest speaker, Leigh Martinuzzi, a real estate guru and the franchisor - Shane Seymour.

The foundations of TV Magic began over a decade ago; back when old, brown-box televisions were still being used as fish tanks.

The business back then looked very different to what it does today. In fact, in the beginning TV Magic didn’t do antennas, it was a pure TV Tuning and Home Theatre Setup business, where the service fee was just $59.

It is evident that times have changed. 

TV Magic is proud to announce that it has recently conquered  a business milestone. 

With the contribution of every single technician and ALL franchisees; For the 2015 calendar year, TV Magic blitzed our target revenue. 

 

To venture away from the safety net of security, comfortable living, a predictable pay cheque and start your own business is no feat to sneeze at.

It was once said, It is always better to have tried than to have not tried at all. To be able to say that I was a “has been” and not a “never was”. It ought to be known that 90% of people dream of having their own business, but live their entire lives , with that dream remaining : unfulfilled.

A further 90 % of the risk takers who take that 1st step out of the “MOTHER NEST” find themselves flapping furiously on the way down but end up in a state of defunct, existing no more.

To make it past 12 months is a note-worthy moment of success!!!  A time to celebrate! A time to get serious and make plans to see your next milestone at 5 years. ..

Today We have such a conquer-er.. A person that took that leap 12 months ago and has learnt how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable!! Please give it up for..... Shannon Noble... 

The next section of awards attests to individuals who make record breaking accomplishments in the company.

It should be noted, that these successes are unprecedented!

Each year, these records will become harder and harder to achieve, hence why they are so remarkable.

Today we are recognising just one record that was noted and broken during 2015.

The prestige awards include: 

1.Best Customer Service 

2.Our most senior and prestigious award – Franchisee of the year

Our first prestige award is the “Best customer service” The recipient shall receive 2 x trophies. One to keep and a perpetual trophy to ‘look after’ until 2017.

It should be noted, that Matthew Brandon, the winner of this award for 2013 and 2014 stands to be the first of all awards to win 3 times in a row. Will he do it? (We’ve never had ‘hatrick’ yet)

Our final trophy of the year and our most, MOST senior and MOST PRESTIGIOUS  accomplishment is the franchisee who performs excellently in all aspects of TV Magic business ownership and most consistently displays these qualities.

The award criteria is a bit like the google formula.

130x points of consideration in the criteria have bearing and weighting on the scores. They are carefully scrutinized and evaluated. Certain sections are subjective whilst others are very mechanical.

The franchisee is not solely judged on: 

the person who appears on the CRM summary board the most frequently It is not The person who has the highest sales 

It is not The person who has the best customer service or has broken company records.

Therefore, any of you and many of you are in very good standing to be walking up here in a few moments.

An idea to who the franchisee of the year is: 

They may be the person who has performed beyond their previous year’s accomplishments 

They are the technician that has developed their skills and knowledge across various job codes 

They are a business owner that has taken risks, made break throughs and followed the tv magic formula, as a whole to the “T” 

They are a team member who supports other franchisees, acts as a role model, follows approved marketing material and contributes to the ops manuals and shares their personal experiences so that they may be added to the company’s best practices. 

 

It should be made aware to all of you, including the franchisee of the year (who has not yet been announced) that it is by human nature itself : -The franchisee  of the year is, by far, not perfect. They have faults, they have weaknesses. However, they are the person who performed overall the best for the year.

Nick Howell won it in 2013. Daniel Ryan won it in 2014. Every single one of you truly have the potential to walk up here.

However, it should now be said, that there were only 2 real  competing candidates for 2015.

These two candidates for last calendar year stood out above the rest. They even scored higher than each other (on both accounts), in various areas of criteria making the subjective components very difficult to judge on.

Although There is no award for second place , special acknowledgement  MUST be made to the runner up this year because it was EXTREMELY CLOSE!!

I MEAN EXTREMELY CLOSE!!!

Therefore I will ask runner up and the winner to join us on the stage. Together.
