WE STAND TALL AGAINST BAD
TV RECEPTION

“ My channels are only breaking up SOME OF THE TIME”

“It’s only some TV points that the channel plays up on”

“it’s only breaking up on 1 channel”

Saying any of the above is like saying “My flat car tyre is ONLY flat at the bottom”

The biggest myth of all…

“The neighbours have perfect TV reception, then so should I”

THE FACTS

  • Upon invitation we visit neighbouring premises to test the signal and find out that don’t actually have perfect signal but have been tolerating the poor signal and have arrived at the conclusion that ‘this is normal’.
  • Neighbours don’t actually watch F2A but are watching Pay TV or online streaming.
  • Whilst it is possible a neighbouring house can have perfect signal – this does in no shape or form guarantee reception even 2-3 m away, let alone the next door house! We often fix customer’s reception by moving an antenna on the roof sideways or backwards on the roof just a couple of metres to fix 1 failing channel or to get a stronger signal!
  • A neighbour often feels unlucky/confused if they are the first person in the street to get a tall extended mast on their roof. What we often experience is that after 12 months transpires; that same street now has half the houses with tall extended masts and more popping up as time goes by.

TECHNICAL INFO SIGNAL BASICS

  • If a football field is measured in metres, TV signals are measured in a unit call dBuv.
  • Every extra dBuv counts. As an example; with the football field 10m + 10 m = 20m ; however with dBuv losing 1DB in signal loss means twice the signal strength but losing 1 extra dB may mean losing 4x the signal strength because of its exponential properties.
  • TV signals fluctuate and are affected by temperature and atmospheric conditions. It is very possible and not uncommon at all for TV channels to be problematic at only certain times of the day. However we have the solution!
  • Digital TV signals have 2x properties – signal strength and signal quality. This technology has been a blessing and a hindrance at the same time. Digital TV is designed to be crystal clear – even when the signal is poor/weak. This phenomena is known as the ‘digital cliff’.
  • All channels are transmitted on a different frequency. It is very possible and common to have one channel that is passing whilst another is failing.
  • Signal strength weakens the further it travels from the transmitter. In control conditions an antenna mast at 10km needs to be doubled in height to achieve the same signal strength that is recorded from an antenna only 5km away.

DBA Standards

At TV Magic we take our reputation very seriously. Our aim is to achieve longer lasting and more reliable TV reception than anyone else. Therefore we don’t believe in ‘band aid’ solutions or temporary fixes/short cuts. Our warranties, materials and workmanship are designed to achieve signal strength and signal quality measurements that have ‘headroom’ for longer life spans. Meaning that your antenna system as a whole has the best chance possible of delivering flawless TV channels even during the worst weather & environmental conditions. We believe our standards are amongst the highest in the industry. If you want no-nonsense, super reliable TV reception on all channels – ALL OF THE TIME call TV Magic. On a weekly basis we are fixing antenna systems that have failed prematurely (installed by electricians and competitors that simply don’t follow the rule book or have standards as high as ours). The customer ends up paying twice. Don’t let this happen to you.

EXTENDED MAST INSTALLATIONS BY TV MAGIC

  • Safe and secure – designed to withstand 150km/h winds
  • Water proof guaranteed
  • Experienced and fully insured
  • We won’t go ahead with the install unless we can guarantee the result/performance on the channels. Anything less than this we will accurately describe what you can realistically expect in your particular area.
  • No nonsense approach – we see competitors sticking up large masts only to put a rubbish poor performing antenna at the top which defeats the purpose of going high to begin with.
  • Initial site test may include a fee to determine the best solution for you – Extended mast vs. Vast installation
  • Some masts over 15ft may require 2x technicians.
  • We have over a decade of experience installing extended masts.
