For Perspective..

Below are two x 15 foot Starlink Extended Masts

Whilst the 40foot mast is approximately 2.5X the height of a 15 foot - the job really is no comparison. A typical 15foot mast installation is a one-person job (for an experienced TV Magic technician). We've completed over a thousand of them and repaired several more. We've even visited some of our jobs from 20years prior and they are still standing! (whilst many others are not/ or are severely perished). All extended mast installations carried out by TV Magic are designed to withstand 150km/hr winds.

With a 40 foot mast you have considerable additional weight and girth in the 60kg of galvanised steel (dead weight). There are 4x telescopic parts and whilst the dead weight is only 60kg (approx) with antenna, cabling and guy wire materials - one gust of wind or wrong move and it can feel like 400kg. When you factor in the lever arm/ torque forces - there is serious risks at play for in-experience. And no! these jobs are more often than not carried out with-OUT ANY CRANE or tele-boom access! We have safely installed or removed many of these elevated monsters where a crane / elevated platform wasn't viable.
