"Monique recently moved into her newly built home in Ormeau Gold Coast and called TV Magic out to help her install her 50inch TV on a full motion swing arm bracket on the wall and install her huge 75inch TV on the wall in her cinema room. She also needed us to help setup her AV equipment, including a sound bar installation to go with it all. Once we'd setup her home cinema and showed Monique how to use it she showed us her new project in the outdoor entertaining area. Monique wanted her 50inch TV to be mounted so it could swing out and be viewable from not only the outside area but the adjoining kitchen and pool too. Luckily we keep a variety of TV wall mounting brackets for all occasions and we mounted her TV perfect for her needs."
5 things to consider when wall mounting a TV.
- The height. There's no perfect height for mounting a TV, it's all personal opinion, although if you're cranking your head back to watch the TV, then it's probably too high ;)
- The cables. Once we've wall mounted your TV in your Ormeau home in Gold Coast, it's not easy for most people to run more cables through the wall if they need one. We always recommend running a spare HDMI cable as well as your current cabling needs.
- Where is your AV equipment going to sit? Some customers haven't bought their furniture when we arrive to mount a TV and haven't really thought about what they are going to connect to their TV and where it's going to sit. Ideally we need to know so we can supply and hide the cabling accordingly.
- What movement do you require, if any? Once a TV is wall mounted, it's not exactly something you can change your mind on at the end. The brackets are hard mounted to your wall and there will be damage if you remove them. Some TV and sound bar installation brackets all for a full motion of movement, and some just give you a tilt function. There are pro's and cons to all bracket types, just ask us if you need help deciding.
- Is the wall structurally suitable? This maybe a question for your TV Magic technician. We'll know straight away when we see the project if something isn't going to work well. A common instance is customers wanting to mount large TV's on full motion arm brackets onto a metal frame home. Unfortunately metal frames are very thin and screws can easily rip out with arm brackets.
A real-life example from today, 2nd April 2018 follows:
"Shane of Ormeau Gold Coast moved into an established home that he bought and the previous tenants had left the TV wall mounting brackets behind attached to the walls. (A common situation we encounter). Shane was hoping to just 'plonk' his TV's on and have the job completed in 5 minutes. What we found when we arrived was that two out of the three wall brackets where missing the vertical bars that attached to your TV, so those wall brackets were no good to either of us; and the third TV wall bracket which was complete, had to be taken off, repositioned and basically a 'start from scratch situation'."
