• Discover what combination of equipment you have and find out what your expectations are from your equipment 
• Plan the best way to connect up your equipment (since we do thousands of these, we'll probably figure this out within 2 seconds flat!) so that it gives you the best picture and sound and is as easy as possible to use
• Make sure the cables are correct for best picture and sound in your home theatre setup
• Offer to put your TV on the wall which is part of the home theatre installation process (should you want to do that)
• Look for shortcuts with your existing remotes (sometimes the brands/equipment's remotes have features that enable you to reduce the # of remote controls you need to use) ie. The TV remote may be able to turn on your blu ray player etc. 
• Offer a universal remote if this is not the case or you want to further simplify your system
