5 Reasons why you should call a professional to install new TV or Foxtel outlets
- You need specialised tools, which costs in excess of $2000! You can't test your work or apply the correct connectors without spending big bucks on professional tools. Plenty of husbands and electricians give it a try and only end up with half a result and no way of knowing what's going on with the signal because they don't have the tools and the specialised know how.
- It can be dangerous, like electrical work! Typically we have to go on your roof, inside the ceiling, remove tiles or roofing. It's risky that you might fall off the roof, fall though the ceiling or cut into some electrical wiring. Just leave it to the professionals.
- It's tricky to do! Running cable up a wall and through the ceiling to another location can be quite tricky unless you're experienced. - Splitting the cable for your new line requires specialised knowledge and equipment! It's quite amusing when I come across DIY'ers attempts at splitting a coax cable. Often I find they have just stripped both cables and twisted the wires together and tapped it up, which ruins the signal strength. A lot of electricians I find at still using old saddle and screw technology too which suffers high signal loss compared to the parts we use.
- Foxtel cables aren't like TV cables! Installing a new foxtel outlet requires a particular type of cable splitter depending on the type of foxtel signal. Satellite foxtel cable splitting is particularly specialised work and won't work with normal TV signal splitters. Cable Foxtel has it's quirks too when installing new Foxtel outlets in Paradise point and Hollywell.
