"Gordon was forever having trouble with TV signal drop outs at his home in Yatala Gold Coast. The channels would come and go and pixilate like crazy during windy weather. 5 Things to look for when choosing a TV antenna tradesmen.
- They are wearing a uniform. Seems obvious doesn't it? Unfortunately we come across unprofessional tradesmen all the time in Yatala Gold Coast. They turn up in thongs and wear no uniform, not exactly trust building is it?
- They aren't still using paper invoicing. If you're dealing with a TV technology company don't you think if they knew their game that'd be past the old school paper invoicing and calendar days by now? Makes you wonder doesn't it. In my opinion I'd expect to see a TV / Antenna specialist nowadays working off some sort of electronic tablet with emailed invoices.
- They drive a modern work van with good signage. Turning up to do a job driving an old clapper of a work van with worn out signage isn't a good sign of a successful tradesmen in my opinion, what do you think? I would much prefer to deal with a more professional business myself.
- The answer the phone professionally and speak clearly. If I needed someone to fix my TV reception and was calling a tv amplifier / booster business in Yatala Gold Coast I'd at least expect them to answer the phone professionally and speak clearly but most tradesmen still haven't seemed to grasped that ability so it seems. It can be a real turn off in my opinion.
- They can take all the common forms of payment. To me as a potential customer I'd really expect to be able to pay by cash, eft or credit / debit card on the spot nowadays. If they can't, do you really want to be doing business with an 'old school' business that represents as a technical business?
A real-life example from today, 21th February 2018 follows:
"Molly was having trouble with her tv reception and thought she needed a booster so she went to her local electronics store and they sold her what most people think is a booster, which was just the power supply, so she was wondering why it wasn't making a difference. She was also plugging it in incorrectly which doesn't help either. (It was hanging out of the back of the TV when we arrived. It should of be in the TV socket wall plate, thankfully it didn't damage her TV.) We explained to Molly that this 'booster' was just a power source for a TV aerial signal booster / amplifier that would live either on the antenna mast or in the ceiling. We ended up fitting a new matching TV aerial booster to her antenna mast for her and then helping her tune in her TV's so she could watch TV again.
