The power of mother nature is just remarkable isn't it? This photo was seen on ABC news. Just several days ago, now inner city suburbs of Brisbane; West End in particular was ripped to shreads by Brisbane's Storm Cell which left house roofs torn off and thousands of TV antennas broken by shrapnel, wind and hail chunks.
TV Magic has received hundreds of calls and we have been extremely busy repairing and replacing TV antennas under insurance claims for hundreds of our previous customers; especially in the West End area. Claiming your broken antenna will mean one less thing you will have to pay for after going through this catastrophic event. We recommend getting pre-approval from your insurance company and even suggest that you read your insurance policy carefully as your insurer may say that otherwise!
Is your TV antenna installation designed to withstand 150k/hr winds?
From our professional point of view, we would say that 90% do not! Nowadays, that's what our supplier tells us. That if the hardware we install is installed correctly it will withstand 150km/hr winds. These means that your TV antenna may still be standing there if it was installed by us! Unless of course, a tree branch took it out or a 1kg hail chunk! Algester was reported of having winds of over 100k/hr that I know of and there were a lot of enquiries from fallen over TV antennas there as well.
What if Lightening hit my house and appliances stopped working?
Well we can speak for televisions and here is your answer
If you own the house in the photo above you'll definately need a new TV antenna and possible new televisions as well! Once again your insurer may/may not cover you for the Storm Damge. The first step you should take is give them a call then give us a call to arrange a 'Damage Report'. We've worked with 90% of the insurance companies so we know exactly what they need to make an assessment and get you up and running again.
