In Elizabeth, Adelaide I had to do some tuning of an old CRT Television. I had to tune a LG vcr and a digital set top box to this old television. The tuning was very easy for me because I must have done this a few thousand times over the years but it occurred to me that I'm seeing less and less of them. Nowadays, these are left out on the sidewalk for anyone's picking. Any they may be functioning perfectly. Once upon a time you could take these tv's to Cash Converters and get a few dollars, but not anymore!

Tuning of the channels were put on the right numbers so that the customer could record. The digital set top box was also hooked up in such a way that they could record digital tv channels.

After tuning the digital set top box, the customer also enquired about why their SBS tv reception wasn't so good. They had told me that another antenna installation company had told me that they needed a booster to get better SBS, but at the time they weren't too interested in SBS anyhow. 

After having a quick test of the signal meter, the verdict was that SBS was quite good. So what could have been the problem?

After tuning the digital set top box with the right settings and changing the rf output of the vcr I was able to improve the tv reception of SBS without doing anything to the aerial! Any a novice or less switched on antenna installer would have said there was a signal problem with SBS. It just shows how much, you need to be on the ball and stay in touch with the latest technology!
