Australia's Big Things - The "Most Unique/Creative Concepts" List

Some of these BIG Things we found quite amusing. If they are listed here we have ranked them highly in creativity and originality. They are a unique concept, not replicated anywhere else.

The Big Alien Robot Spider

Bowen, QLD. The Big Alien Robot Spider features a brain centred on top of it's 8 legs and then a machine gun looking weapon as a 9th extension. If this thing was real, I think we should all be scared. It looks like something from a SCI Fi / Horror movie. It's a fantastic big thing and you won't be driving too far out of the way as it's in the same vicinity as the very IMPRESSIVE BIG MANGO and the less impressive BIG SLUG.

The Big Blue Boot

So where's the other one? Legend has it - Big Foot left it on top of a car sales yard in Brisbane a few decades ago, but in 2020 he came back in the middle of the night to reclaim it.

The Big Lawn Mower

The Big Lawn Mower on the Sunshine Coast not only made the funny list but is quite impressive as well. It's big. It ranked quite well as an iconic BIG THING and we found it quite amusing. Great job to the people who thought of and made this monument of a gigantic VICTA branded lawn Mower!

The Big Tumble Weed

In outback QLD - Tambo, you'll find the BIG TUMBLEWEED. There's a sign there and this monumnet is easily missed. As you are driving north out of TAMBO it's on the left in the paddock and if you're weary from driving you may mistake it for a real bush (from a distance). But you can drive right up to it and read the sign. We found it quite amusing. The Big Tumbleweed also made our "RARE / NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE ELSE LIST".

The Big Vacuum, Coffs Harbour

A cleaning supplies business in Coffs Harbour has put in the effot to make this hilarious, every-day household appliance into a "Big Thing" monument.

The BIG HOT WATER SYSTEM

As your travelling north or south through North QLD this strange cylindrical shape will easily pass you by. It's actually the BIG HOT WATER SYSTEM and it's even harder to get a park next to it because you'll need to catch the right exit with no signage. We went to all the trouble of going back and forth so you don't have to.
