Why do only some channels break up?

This is a common problem with digital TV. What is really going on is you most likely have a weak signal on all your channels. It's just a matter of time before the other channels start to pixelate as well. It's like saying your flat car tyre is only flat at the bottom. 

My channels only break up some of the time...

Same story here, over time (it may take 6months or 2 years) but eventually they will drop out all together. If you are experiencing channel pixelation only a little bit, only on some channels or only some of the time, the signals are weak and you need a TV reception expert. The signals are not going to get any better by themselves.
