About Jim Render

Jim Render (James Render) is an ex professional deejay. Naturally one of Jim's favourite jobs is to wow customers with world-class surround sound and home cinema accoustics. Jim also loves Starlink installations and all services provided by TV Magic. Born in the U.K Jim's customers find Jim a delight and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He goes out of his way to impress. You can expect the highest levels of worksmanship and communication when dealing with Jim. Jim has a life long career working with technology. Before joining TV Magic and completing the TV Magic training courses; Jim's forte and passion was customer service and technology. Jim services the Sydney area, specifically Northern Beaches. Jim also services our Central Coast and Wollongong customers.

An Interview with Jim by Kirsten L

K: Hi Jim! How are you?

J: Splendid! Oh I'm loving this new job. This is a great company and yeah I'm just absolutely loving work again.

K: Well that's awesome! So lets start with this, what did you do before TV Magic?

J: Oh I was in corporate. For far too long. I've also dabbled in tech and home entertainment my whole life but yeah I was in the office, in the High Rises, Mobile phone meetings in the cars, Zoom meetings in the office multiple times a day - 10 -12 hours a day or more! For far too long. Specifically I was working in banking and financial services software implementation etc.

K: So what's your fav part about the job now? Fav job for a customer?

J: It would have to be Starlink and improving a customer's internet with mesh and wifi point to point systems etc. I also love audio and installing surround sound systems.

K: So who would have thought, you'd eventually find your dream job? Did you want to be a TV Magic technician as a child ? lol

J: No, I wanted to be a Raf Pilot. Thinking back, Im kinda glad that didn't work out and yes I think I may have just found my dream job!

K: What do you do for fun?

J: Any sport. Football, running, cycling, golf. I also love to get my decks out for a DJ set. I use to be a deejay once upon a time.

K: Deejay hey! What's your biggest achievement to date?

J: My children, Isobel and Edward.

K: What's the biggest tip you've received from a customer so far?

J: $200

K: Most awkward experience with a customer?

J: Not many stand out but it's always a little awkward when you go out to a customer to solve a problem with their kit and you realise that they've accidently turned it off or unplugged a cable.
