An interview with Vaughan Coots by Kirsten L
K: "Hi Vaughan, How are you?"
V: "Yeah bloody ripper, how are you?"
K: "Yes good thanks! Are you ready to begin?" "So what did you do before TV Magic?"
V: "I ran an insurance company; as part of a big corporate"
K: "Sounds serious. Was that what you always dreamed of doing as a child? Was that your dream of what you wanted to do when you "got older"? Or was it to be a TV Magic Magician?"
V: "No I dreamt of playing AFL for the Cats"
K: "I bet many young boys share that dream. Well now that you're not in insurance and you are with TV Magic - out of all the services you provide, what are your favourite kinds of jobs to do in your TV Magic business?"
V: "I like them all, but my favourites would have to be TV Wall mounting and Antenna installations"
K: "Next question.. What's two things that most people don't know about you Vaughan? "
V: "hmm I would love to be a stand up comedian but I am too afraid to bomb on stage. I love being on stage! Which is weird but yes that fear of bombing out.. I have also been a competitive shooter for a number of years and competed overseas with my wife. It's good fun!"
K: "You're a man of a many talents! And yes I've heard some of the jokes and one-liners you've shared with the other techs - I think you should give it a crack! Maybe you could practice with your customers here and there! "So Next questions, what do you do for fun?"
V: "You mean hobbies etc? I love being out in nature on hikes, still compete in shooting and enjoy being involved in local footy with my young fella"
K: "That sounds fulfilling. And favourite place on earth?"
V: "Thailand"
K: "Last question, what would be the first thing that comes to mind if I asked what is your biggest achievement of all time?"
V: "From a work perspective, leading 115 x staff members through change and disruption but also making the decision to challenge myself in a new direction with TV Magic. Personally, it's being a dad which is the most rewarding thing ever"

(Above and Below) - Vaughan is working with Nick Howell on a Dolby Atmos Home Cinema installation. This Home Cinema Package was supplied and installed by TV Magic and featured: a 7.2.2 Surround Sound System, 4K projector, Dolby Atmos AV Receiver and Professional Audio Calibration.
