Do you have cracking speakers?
Speakers crackling? This is another problem with the 'auto' surround sound test. Crackling speakers may be caused by incorrect cables or cables incorrectly connected. Most of the time it is a setting or combination of settings that needs attention from the MANUAL calibration interface (usually done by someone who knows what theyre doing!)
Also, do you have the right layout of your surround sound. If you don't you may have out of phase issues, this will not give you crackling speakers but will give you certain listening positions on your couch where you cannot hear some of your speakers! ''Out of phase blocking'', is common with good quality gear.
