In Australia, we live in such a throw-away world. Electronics, televisions, vcr's, dvd's are nothing but scrap metal once they become obsolete or past their use by date.
Once upon a time, you would call a TV service technician or take your big box CRT television into your local repair shop. Not only are these businesses out of business, this is just not the 'done thing' anymore.
